I have a question about the three day diet.
I have a friend who wanted to lose weight in time for a party. She was trying to impress this guy she likes. Anyway, she found something called the three day diet online and she tried it. She said you could lose like 15 pounds on the three day diet. Is this true? And I've read that the three day diet is really bad for you. Is this true? I'm thinking about trying the three day diet for myself but I'm really not sure.

The three day diet is what we call a "fad diet," which means there's no scientific proof that backs up its effectiveness. You'll find a lot of information about the three day diet online - including our write-up of it - which recommends that you avoid the three day diet completely.

The three day diet seems to work by using low carbs and low calories to induce ketosis, just like the initial phases of many low carb diets. So the weight loss associated with the three day diet is mostly water weight which you'll regain as soon as you begin your normal eating.
